Each of the three adorable characters – giraffe, monkey and bird – does a special “dance” as it dangles from the tree. Overall worth it
Overall a great purchase, I think our twins will love it! The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because when it runs, the motor at the top of the mobile that spins it makes a humming noise that is not a whole lot quieter than the music.
The colors are nice and bright, it was very easy to put together, great resale value, and although I have not used it with babies yet I do think the remote will come in handy. This is because if you want to shut the unit off with babies sleeping, the loud “click” may wake them up, while the remote is silent and can stop or start it much more quietly.
*update* Twins now 7 mo. old and still loving it! The paint chipped off a little for some reason… but the functionality is awesome. Make sure you get a mobile with the option of running with no music. The humming I noted above is negligible and they definitely don’t notice. The remove has REALLY come in handy too.
Baby loves it!
This mobile was easy to put together and easy to install in the crib. The remote that comes with it is so nice since the music and motion stop after 20 minutes. It runs on 3 C batteries which seems reasonable. Haven’t had it long enough to see how quickly it goes through batteries though.
My two month old seemed to enjoy his wind-up mobile but it was impossible to get anything done when the motion stopped after only 2 minutes. I put this one together and put him in his crib when he was awake and he loved it! He lays there and coos at this animals and kicks his legs.
The animals on the mobile move 360 degrees which is nice and they are in bright colors which seem to entertain my little one. The music is repetitive but the sound quality is good and the baby doesn’t seem to care. It is nice that you have the option to mute the music if you want to and two volume levels.
Great Item!
I love this mobile. It has kept my infant occupied (since she was 2 months old — now 4 months) after she wakes up in the morning for 30+ minutes. I am able to take a shower and get ready without rushing. She stares at the animals which have their own rotation in addition to the rotation of the large orange arms. There are 4 different musical choices and 2 volume settings. The top part (green arm with mobile) is easily removed from the bottom (white and green oval) so that distractions can be removed for naps and bedtime. The only thing that was a little frustrating was attaching the bottom part to the crib. I had to use some foam so that it would fit my crib properly, but with about 10 minutes of tinkering I got it on without a problem and it has held strong for over 2 months now. This toy has made mornings very easy for me and my child.
not bad item
i dont think this item is worth the price i paid. the animals are really long and am not sure how long it’ll last before my son can grab them. i received it on a wednesday and by monday of the next week, the only light on the mobile burnt out or its just not working for whatever reason. if you dont mind not having a light, it does keep my son interested. i like how when the animals are turning in the circle, they also move sometimes.
big love for tiny love
We got this mobile before my daughter was born and she has enjoyed it at various stages since she came home. The movement pattern of the creatures is simple and quick and they are bright and engaging — not way too busy. The mobile seems to stimulate her without over stimulating her. She is a little bored by it at her more active times, but in the morning and at night she will stare and talk to it with glee. The remote makes it really convenient and it attached to our wide crib. The music quality is high and it sounds like actual instruments, not some cheesy music box like so many baby products. I do agree with other reviewers that the music snippets loop too quickly and do get repetitive, but that bothers me and not her so, oh well.
Packaging Nightmare
I love this mobile but have to let you know that the packaging for this product is a nightmare. There is more tape, cardboard pieces, and plastic attaching all the pieces that anyone should have to battle with. The only thing that could have made it worse would have been bubble packaging that actually fights back.
